If you have a portable 2 in 1 device or tablet and you tried to play Warcraft 3 or maybe other older game you may notice that game is starting in portrait, like in image bellow.
This mainly happens with devices running Windows 8 / 8.1 or Windows 10
You can fix this issue in 3 ways depends on you situation you can chose one of this methods:
Update to latest patch
After patch 1.27 compatibility with windows 10 is added and this issue is fixed. If you are using Warcraft 3 with patch 1.26 because of compatibility of third party client you can fix this issue using the following methods that does not require you to update to latest Warcraft 3 patch.

Run in OpenGL mode
As this issue is related to DirectX running Warcraft 3 in OpenGL mode fixes this issue.

If you don't want to run Warcraft 3 in OpenGL mode or you have some issue running Warcraft 3 in OpenGL mode you can try the following method.
Download d3d8.dll
By simply downloading d3d8.dll and coping it to Warcraft 3 game directory will fix issue with Warcraft 3 starting in portrait mode.
You can download d3d8.dll here
If you have issue with other games staring in portrait mode in Windows 10 you can try to copy d3d8.dll to game directory (same folder where is main .exe file) and it can fix this issue with other games.
