Battle.Lan and Windows Vista/7 - How To

If You are Windows Vista user and You are using Battle.Lan You may have issue when You press Start button in Battle.Lan it will disappear, like nothing running.




To fix this issue,
Right click the BattleLANv05.exe file, click Properties, then click the Compatiblity tab, then checkmark the "Run this program as a administrator" option.
And You're done, now it work's :)

PC WORLD EDITOR CHANGES

- Increased max map file size from 4 MB to 8 MB.

How To Use Wc3proxy - Warcraft 3 Proxy

1. Downloading and installing YAWLE

First download Wc3proxy here, after downloading extract Wc3proxy.zip.
Copy WC3Proxy.exe file in Your Warcraft 3 directory (C:\Program Files\Warcraft III).

2. Using Wc3proxy

Strart Wc3proxy.exe Warcraft 3.
It will ask You host IP and host's game version (You need to have same game version as host). Wc3proxy will notify You when it finds host, than start Warcraft 3.

To change Server go to File > Change Server

In Game chose “Local Area Network”, in “Games” field select game and click “Joing Game”


If You are Host You don’t start Wc3proxy, but You can start tool for game host caled Battle.Lan

4. Firewall

To play Warcraft 3 with Wc3proxy You will need to unblock port 6112 on You firewall.

vJass Highlight Extension for Gedit Gnome Linux

This plugin allows the user to have highlights to all non-BJ functions and to automatically view ".j" files.


Installation Guide:

There are two files: vJass.lang and vJass.xml and they go to separate folders.

vJass.xml:
1 - This is an optional step. By making it you will be able to automatically have the vJass highlights mode when you open a ".j" file. It is not necessary to make the highlights work, but it is nice because this way you don't need to go to "View -> Highlight -> Others -> vJass".
2 - Go to "~/.local/share/mime/packages" (create it if it doesn't exist yet)
2.1 - Remember .local is a hidden folder, you have to enable the view of hidden folders
3 - paste this file there
4 - Go to "~/.local/share" and run: "update-mime-database mime" (if you can't run the command it is ok as well, but I advice to do so)

vJass.lang:
1 - This is the necessary step for you to have highlights working.
2 - copy this file to the following path: "/usr/share/gtksourceview-2.0/language-specs"

All the process must be done with Gedit closed.
